Eccl.11.4 He who observes the wind [and waits for all conditions to be perfect] will not sow, and he who regards the clouds will not reap( a harvest). (AMP)
This is one amazing scripture you will need to ruminate on for a very long time. You need to read and read it again till it sink. Infact reading other translations is even mind blowing.
Eccl.11.4. If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done. (NLT)
Or better still,
Eccl.11.4 Don’t sit there watching the wind. Do your own work. Don’t stare at the clouds. Get on with your life. (MSB).
Beloved, I wish to bring to your attention that every notable venture in life has one or more excuses why such venture should not be embarked upon and that’s why the courage to start against all odds can not be overemphasized. God has heard from day one, many of the things you want him to do for you but He is waiting for your first step regardless of how staggering the step can be, like a toddler’s feet that is not yet firm to the ground. God expects our moves and actions but because we are too religious to accept He heard us immediately we prayed, we result into vain repetitions and neglect taking steps. God has sent me to tell you that He has heard your prayer request and you should start acting now. Faith without work is dead.
In Genesis chapter 1, the earth was without form and full of darkness but in spite of this, the spirit of the Lord kept hovering round the formless earth till the word came. I challenge you today, you need the courage to start. Many great organisations you see today began with a thought, an inspired word of conviction etc followed by undivided continuous actions. It is time to look inward, there is something you are better in and can deliver to your hands great dividends your generation yet unborn can not recover from.
According to the quoted scripture, it is obvious many people are waiting for perfect conditions to start something meaningful but the truth is that perfect conditions only exist in the mind of a procrastinator. It is the haven of excuse from the actual moves he is supposed to make. You are brilliant…you are smart…you are rich…you are so connected…the only thing you need is the courage to start.
I woke up one morning and decided to start my PhD, truly like any meaningful endeavour, challenges came from a quarter I least expected but I moved and today after 3 years I can conveniently sue you if you don’t address me properly as a Doctor. Laugh.
All you need is the courage to start. No perfect conditions exist anywhere! Don’t listen to the voice that is saying your idea is not plausible or is outdated or not sell able. Arise and awake the giant that is inside of you. When I was looking for a job in Oil and Gas industry, I submitted over 50 applications in one single day, only one company called me after almost a year, interviewed us and employed only me. I didn’t know anybody in that organisation but the courage to apply was a deciding factor. Those were the days I didn’t even have enough money to print my resume. I remembered while going for the interview somebody gave me money for my transportation and my Father in the Lord asked me to wear his shoes. I’m sure he noticed how wonderful the shoe i wore to his house was, before it will stop me from getting the job. Laugh. It was all shades of odds but one thing was crystal clear; I had the courage to take step.
Have you heard of the four lepers in scripture?
2Kgs.7.3 – And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?
2Kgs.7.4 – If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.
2Kgs.7.8 – And when these lepers came to the uttermost part of the camp, they went into one tent, and did eat and drink, and carried thence silver, and gold, and raiment, and went and hid it; and came again, and entered into another tent, and carried thence also, and went and hid it.
The courage to start, turned a season of war to a season of harvest for the lepers. Courageous people are not bound by hard times instead they see opportunities that lies in hard times good enough to turn their situations around.
I love you dearly great Sons and Daughters home and abroad but to be honest, you need the courage to start.
The Dangote of this world didn’t start with multi billion dollar cement factory or farm tank, he started by trading sugar, he didn’t produce! Scale down your business concept. You know you are a software developer but since you can’t deal with the financing requirements of a well established software development company for now why not start training people with the requisite skill and start earning your wages. I know some of you can pet a child to sleep even more than their biological parents, so instead of dreaming to own a world class creche and waiting why not start with a few in your sitting room? Many a times, you need to scale down to go up but more importantly you need the courage to start.
I release upon you grace for courage to start in Jesus name.
Until you have courage to start, your destiny helpers won’t come. They can’t come to help vacuum or an action that is non-existing. You see why your prayers for destiny helpers looks like it was not answered? You too tell me, what do you need academic scholarship for, when you are not planning to go to school. What do you need government entrepreneur grant for, when you are not one. It is high time you stop abusing your rich uncle that is given you peanuts. He is not a fool, he knows that one million dollar opportunity from him multiplied by your current zero effort is zero.
