Text<\/strong>: Matthew 14:22\u201333; Hebrews 12:2; Isaiah 26:3<\/p>\n

THE ILLUSION OF THE STORM:<\/strong><\/p>\n

In Matthew 14, Peter did what no other disciple dared to do \u2014 he stepped out of the boat and walked on water. He was literally defying gravity, walking in the miraculous, until something happened: he took his eyes off Jesus and fixed them on the wind and waves.<\/p>\n

The storm was fierce, but its power to sink him was an illusion as long as his focus remained on Christ. The moment he paid attention to the wind, fear entered, and he began to sink.<\/p>\n

Listen carefully, many believers are sinking today, not because of the storms but because of where their attention is fixed. The contrary wind is not your problem; misplaced focus is. <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Hear this:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.  THE WINDS ARE DISTRACTIONS, NOT DESTINATIONS<\/p>\n

\u2022 Text: \u201cBut when he saw the wind, he was afraid\u2026\u201d (Matthew 14:30)<\/p>\n

The devil knows he cannot stop you, so he distracts you.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Storms are designed to capture your gaze. The enemy wins the moment he gets you to look away from Jesus.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

2. FOCUS IS YOUR FAITH ANCHOR<\/p>\n

\u2022 Faith feeds on focus. You cannot walk by faith and stare at fear at the same time.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Isaiah 26:3: \u201cYou will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

When your focus is fixed on God, storms lose their power.<\/p>\n

Many years ago, I was a jobless graduate. I had then, 2 masters degrees and 5 professionals. I prayed, I applied, I did all I could \u2014 yet no job came. Then one day, I said to God:<\/p>\n

“Whether You give me a job or You don\u2019t, You will still be my God.”<\/p>\n

That was my moment of surrender. I chose to look away from joblessness! Heaven heard me. Immediately, I got a brand-new job that moved my career forward forever.<\/p>\n

Lesson: The storm of delay lost its power the day I took my eyes off my situation and fixed them on God.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

3. FIX YOUR EYES ON THE TRUE SOURCE<\/p>\n

I have said it many times; your employer is not your provider. Get this right. God is. Never let his threats or decisions get you so distracted and broken. Get your eyes fixed on Jesus \u2014 the Boss of all bosses.”<\/p>\n

When I decided to pursue my PhD in one of the private leading universities renowned for its excellence, If I had fixed my eyes on the high school fees, I would have drowned in fear.<\/p>\n

But I realized I had two accounts:<\/p>\n

\u2022 My earthly account,<\/p>\n

\u2022 My heavenly account, which is inexhaustible being a consistent tither.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I chose to keep my eyes on the heavenly one. Semester after semester, God supplied even sometimes when it looks like how will it happen. God did it! I did not just finished, I got awards as the best PhD graduating student both in my department and the entire faculty. The Department later requested I come on board as an Industry expert on accreditation exercise. I got also on board for an Energy cluster that won a global grant. Sons and Daughters, please fix your eyes on the true source. God once told Bishop Oyedepo to look up with one eye and look down with the other eyes at the same time, a task he found difficult and God said ” Never claim you are looking at me, if your focus is on another.”<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

4. APPLY THE PRINCIPLES, NOT THE PANIC<\/p>\n

\u2022 Fear paralyzes, but kingdom principles empower.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Philippians 4:19 \u2014 God has made provision for your supply.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Deuteronomy 8:18 \u2014 He gives you power to get wealth.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Poverty, sickness, delay \u2014 these are storms that lose their grip when you act on God\u2019s Word.<\/p>\n

Please, let go of your fears.<\/p>\n

I have a dog named Star. Star is fierce always eager to bite. One day, he ran after one of our security men. Out of fear, the man jumped on top of a Jeep, got wounded in the process, and even damaged his torchlight.<\/p>\n

That same week, all the security men including their head \u2014 gathered in my house to complain about Star. Since then, I have kept Star chained, because even the guards themselves are afraid of him.<\/p>\n

But here\u2019s the interesting part: even though Star is securely chained, people who want to enter my compound are still fearful. Some even whisper, \u201cWhat if the chain breaks?\u201d They are afraid of what is already restrained.<\/p>\n

Now hear me: Your challenges are like Star. They have already been chained* by the Almighty. Stop panicking. The chain will not break, because God Himself fastened it.<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udcd6 Colossians 2:15 says: \u201cHaving disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.\u201d<\/p>\n

That means the devil and every storm against your life is already disarmed, chained, and defeated in Christ.<\/p>\n

So why still panic? Walk boldly \u2014 the enemy can bark, but he cannot bite.<\/p>\n

Sons and Daughters, you are not poor \u2014 take your eyes off poverty and focus on the principles of wealth creation: diligence, sowing, tithing, managing resources wisely.<\/p>\n

5. JESUS IS GREATER THAN THE STORM<\/p>\n

\u2022 Mark 4:39: Jesus rebuked the wind and said, \u201cPeace, be still!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2022 The presence of storms does not mean the absence of God. In fact, storms reveal His power.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Peter\u2019s sinking turned into a miracle the moment he cried out, \u201cLord, save me!\u201d and Jesus caught him.<\/p>\n

Arise today call the name of that storm threatening your peace and rebuke it by the name that is above all names; JESUS!!!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS<\/p>\n

\u2022 Daily Word Meditation: Train your mind to stay on God\u2019s promises, not on bad news.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Speak Faith: Open your mouth and declare provision, health, success. Your words steer your focus.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Act on Principles: Give, plan, work diligently, and position yourself to receive.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Stay in Prayer: Prayer keeps your eyes lifted above the storm.<\/p>\n

I declare this month your eyes are fixed on Jesus \u2014 you will not sink. You are walking on top of the storms that once scared you. Every contrary wind against your destiny is silenced now. You will not see shame \u2014 your faith will produce results.<\/p>\n

Please pray this prayers: <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Lord, refocus my eyes. Deliver me from distractions and fear.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Lord, empower me to act on Your Word and not be paralyzed by storms.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Lord, let my life be a testimony that storms cannot stop those who trust in You.<\/p>\n

Now I prophesy:<\/p>\n

“This Month, your eyes are set like flint! No wind will shake you, no storm will break you, and no news will sink you. You will walk on water, because your gaze is on Jesus.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Let me remind you once again; we are not playing on this platform; we have God\u2019s battle axe silencing all manners of storms here. Stay connected.<\/p>\n
