Our natural default as Christians is prosperity.

The scripture says , Jesus became poor, so that we can be rich. 2Cor.8.9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. (KJV). We are regenerated to have a sound mind that can do far better than we think.

However, the reality on ground today is that we still have Christians with a poor outlook and deliveries. I’m here to state few reasons why you are poor. I mean why scripture seems elusive in your default setting of prosperity, your natural heritage where you belong.

In laying foundation to this subject, you have to know that there is no substitute for money. Jesus was asked to pay tax, he instructed the disciples to go and catch a fish and from its mouth they would find money to pay for the tax. No substitute. Children school fees has to be paid with money. Hospital bill has to be paid with money, so also food. Money is an acceptable legal tender acceptable for product and services. So no substitute, don’t be shy about this reality you must have it! Fifty percent of your inherited problem is associated to money. So this is a critical concern worth looking into.

Now, let’s jump in quickly into why you are poor.

1. The dynamics of making money has changed!
Many years ago, the idea of making money is by going to school and then graduate to start looking for job that can pay you. Fine, it works well years back and it still working for an handful few but the reality today has changed. Few companies can adequately inculcate full fledged labour laws that can make employee financially comfortable long after they retire from work. In Nigeria today for instance, there are many organisations without pension scheme, health schemes etc. However, you see a skit maker earning in thousands of dollars a month. You see media tech savvy people financially buoyant and doing well from the comfort of their homes. The obvious truth is that you can’t make money by mere traditional mindset anymore. The salient point here is that you have to be innovative and ready to adapt technology to make money.
Many of you only use your iPhones to make calls, pose in your dp as if you own the country and check Instagrams whereas what the judicious use of your phones can deliver to your hand financially is more than what your office is paying you in a month! That same phone has earned fortune for those dropshipping with zero capital injection.

2. You will be poor if you are less active in the market place.

Prov.14.23 In all labor there is profit, but idle talk leads only to poverty. (AMP)

To have revenue, you must be active in the market place. You must have a product or service you are pushing to the market. If you are on a long fast on the mountain praying for money, I advise you engage the market place as well with your goods and services and see if there will not be a change.

3. You will be poor if you remain a local champion in a financially deficit relationships or association.

The company you keep truly and indeed determines what accompanies you.
Most keep relationships with talkative without influence and impact. Prov.28.19 He who cultivates his land will have plenty of bread, but he who follows worthless people and pursuits will have poverty enough. (AMP)
It is high time you get your bearing right. Keep quality engagement that can add value to your life. Run from those who gives you emotional blackmail to defraud you. The Lord Jesus carefully picked his disciples. He picked 12 to be His inner circle team. He was intentional about his engagement. You also have to.

4. You will be poor if you are not flexible, dynamic and an insightful thinker.

You can’t be so rigid to say I’m a medical Doctor and I won’t do business. You can’t say I studied Aeronautic Engineering and shun other streams of income. In Nigeria today, the fuel of N9,000 buy into cars a month ago is about N30,000 today. If you buy that, 10 times, you have already expended N300,000. I leave you to deduct this from your income and do the math. It’s obvious you need to be flexible, dynamic and be a thinker now than ever. However, this is not a call to panic or go into illegitimate business.

5. You can’t eat your tithe and seeds anymore.

Great efforts can fail where God is not in the picture. Grace is simply God in the race. Paul said in 1Cor.3.7 “The ones who do the planting or watering aren’t important, but God is important because he is the one who makes the seed grow”(NLT). Your tithe and seeds are spiritual transaction and the spiritual dictates to the physical. With all Job had, just one day, the devil strucked and he became instantly poor and if not for God’s intervention where would his restoration come from. Don’t dodge your tithe. Don’t eat your tithe and seeds. One of my daughter in the Lord while given her tithe once said that she believed what 90percent of her income can not do, 100percent won’t do. That’s a great insight. I don’t care which country you are or which organisation you work for, if you are not a tither, there is something you are missing. Tithing is not trade by barter. It is your covenant shield against sudden devourer.

6. Embrace Assets and reject seductive appeal to acquire liabilities.

It’s time to stop investing so much in liabilities that can not outlived you or improve your financial standing. Poor people like to show themselves because they like to impress and need public confirmation and by so doing they spend on too many liabilities. If you see the humility of the rich, you will be humble. The first time I set my eyes on the Billionaire Dangote, he drove himself to where we were, sat with us and took a walk like everyone as we made our way to the building. The humility around him forbids liabilities.

7. Avoid gap in skill

There are many whose profession requires them to be full fledged professional but has remained beginner or intermediate skilled in their vocation for too long making your deliveries either to your employers, partners or customers unsatisfactory. It’s high time you nurture your skill to a point where no aspect of your work is skill deficient. Sharpen your skill. Sharpen your skill to a point where your employer or customers can’t avoid you.

8. Avoid the Job trap.

Salary is what you are paid to forget your purpose. Nobody is saying quit your job prematurely but having a job shouldn’t limit you from expanding your capacity to earn. Think about it in the next 20years will the company you are working for today still requires your service especially when you are currently above 30years of age? Is your line of business sustainable? I remembered many years when we can’t do without business centres to type documents and make photocopies but today even your phone can scan documents, just download simple scanner on play store. That’s an inevitable change that has dwindling down the prospect of business centres and this applies to many other career or business engagement. I ask again, is what you are doing today sustainable?

9. Plant a future seed of influence today.

Never miss the opportunity to stand for people who are longing to be better but are in their lowest ebb today. Rome wasn’t built in a day and so everyone will go through a process. Many of those running to you today for assistance are future giants as long as they keep building capacities; never despised them.
Scripture says; What you sow, you shall reap. Somebody once accomodated a young soldier in his house who later became the President of the same country many years later.

10. Avoid curses by all means

Isa.57.20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea, for it cannot rest, and its waters cast up mire and dirt. (AMP).

As christians we are a blessed generation. Please avoid lifestyles and character that brings curses. Many can’t succeed even if you give them the wealth of all Nations and the reason is simple; they are cursed. Achan’s life and his family were cut off because he stole an accursed material and ķept it in the camp of Isreal.
Even though children are the heritage of the Lord, the children that mocked Elijah lost their future to the grip of death. Stay bless by all means possible.

11. You will be poor if you don’t work smart

Many atimes, we have been advised to work hard but even though it is good to work hard, it has now become essentially essential to work smart. Hard worker dissipate so much energy and sweat bodily but smart worker sweat in their brain and in terms of deliveries no hard worker can beat a smart worker. Smart workers have their Eagle eyes on efficient system with top notch delivery that is highly rewarding.

12. You will be poor if you don’t add value to yourself

I know someone who was once a cleaner in a university department and later became a Doctor in the same department. Today he is a Professor!. He must have looked at his life and say why should I die a cleaner? So while he was cleaning the department, he was adding value to himself unknowingly to others. He later became the envy of those who knew him as a cleaner in the same department. He sits with his yester years Bosses in meetings. He became so unstoppable that today he is a Dean of faculty. You are doing a great damage to yourself, if who you are 5years ago is who you are today and no value added. One of my daughter in the U.S has just put in for a nursing program, you won’t believe how happy I was because aside encouraging her, I prayed like a mad man in my closet for that breakthrough because I know the importance of adding value to one’s life. You too can make it. Poverty is not a native of any country neither did your family signed a permanent bond with poverty. Wake up!

Stay bless!

Dr Governor

Kings Teem Christian City Church
bmopportunity@yahoo.com

Please for your Tithe and seeds:
Crossover Blessing International
GTB
0129788396

In the real sense of the word poor, no spirit filled Christian is expected to be poor.
