WHERE IS MY HONOUR?

SERMON TITLE*: WHERE IS MY HONOUR?

— Unlocking the Realm of Grace, Favour & Divine Manifestation.

Text: Malachi 1:6 (KJV)

“A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you… ”

INTRODUCTION  — THIS IS GOD SPEAKING: A CRY OF THE SPIRIT

Some scriptures teach.

Some instruct.

But a few *carry the raw heartbeat of God*.

Malachi 1:6 is one of them.

Here, the Almighty Himself asks:

“ *If I am your Father… where is My honour?*”

No prophet said it.

No angel delivered it.

*God Himself declared it*.

This is not a suggestion—

it is a divine indictment.

And whenever God asks a question,

it means *It is a big deal*.

*POINT 1 — HONOUR IS THE PROTOCOL OF ACCESS*

God begins by using natural relationships:

• *A son honours his father*

• *A servant honours his master*

Honour is not optional.

Honour is not negotiated.

Honour is *expected*.

Psalm 100:4 says:

“ *Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name*.”

Thanksgiving opens the gate,

but *honour opens the deeper chambers*.

Honour is the spiritual password.

Where honour is absent,  *access is denied*.

*POINT 2 — DISHONOUR IS SILENT BUT DEADLY*

The priests in Malachi did not argue with God.

They did not speak against Him.

They did not renounce Him.

Their dishonour was *silent:*

Malachi 1:7–8 (KJV)

“ *Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar… and if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil?… offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee…?”*

They gave God

what they would NEVER give a governor.

Dishonour shows up when you:

• Treat holy things as common

• Choose convenience over obedience

• Are present in a ministry but absent in commitment

• Handle the prophetic casually

• Have been in a ministry for years but act like a new convert needing follow-up

• Become a user, not a contributor

• Treat covenant obligations (tithes, offerings, seeds) as burdens.

Hear this:

*Dishonour disconnects you from the grace you should drink from*.

*You cannot draw from a well you look down on*.

The greatest relationships in life collapse, not because of betrayal,

but because of *dishonourful attitudes*.

**POINT 3 — WHERE HONOUR FLOWS, GRACE FLOWS*

Honour activates two powerful realms:

*A. Honour Toward God (Vertical Honour)*

This realm brings:

• Stability

• Establishment

• Preservation

• Divine protection

2 Chronicles 20:20 (KJV):

“ *Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.* ”

When you honour God,

He plants your feet

where no man can uproot you.

*B. Honour Toward the Prophetic (Horizontal Honour)*

The same verse continues:

*“…believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.”*

This means:

• You can love God and still stagnated

• You can be established and still not prosper

• You can be saved and still be stranded

God establishes;

*the prophetic prospers*.

Let me show you from my life—

When I was about 18 years old,

fresh out of secondary school,

working casually, by December of that year, the company gave me a life hen as a gift.

Without thinking twice,

I ran to my pastor with it. I gave it to him.

I honoured grace.

He laid hands on me and said:

“ *From today, your head becomes a rock*.”

From that day till now,

if you call my name for evil—

*YOU* are the one that will answer the call.

Honour opened the realm of spiritual immunity.

*POINT 4 — HONOUR IS NOT TRANSACTION… IT IS REVELATION*

Many miss this truth:

Honour is not “Daddy, take this so you bless me.” Annointing is not for sale.

No.

Honour is *recognising grace* and you key in for your lifting.

Matthew 10:41 (KJV):

“ *He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward*…”

Your giving, your tithing, your seeds—

they are not transactions with God.

They are acts of *alignment and honour*.

I have never needed encouragement to give my tithes or covenant seeds.

*Honour activates grace, and grace activates manifestation*.

God is still asking:

*“If I am your Father, where is My honour?”*

Many believers pray,

yet remain unfulfilled

because they violate honour in silence.

*POINT 5 — THE COST OF COMMONIZING GRACE*

The Holy Ghost told me:

“ *Familiarity is the death of impartation*.”

When you start seeing your man of God as ordinary or is dishonoured,

the flow of grace stops.

Biblical patterns prove it:

• *Miriam dishonoured Moses → became leprous*

(Numbers 12:1–10)

• *Saul dishonoured Samuel → lost the throne*

(1 Samuel 15:22–28)

• *Eli’s sons dishonoured the altar → God withdrew glory*

(1 Samuel 2:29–34)

• *Nazareth dishonoured Jesus → He could do no mighty works*

(Mark 6:4–6)

“ *And he could there do no mighty work*…”

Not would not—

*He could not*.

Dishonour shut down the capacity of Jesus Himself.

Some people give eye-service or lip-service to their prophet, thinking spiritual things operate by deception.

God sees the heart.

I remember a son abroad—

he visited Nigeria and called me one day saying he would come and see me before he returns.

As he was talking,

the Holy Spirit said clearly:

“ *He will not see you*.”

And it happened. It didn’t pain me. I knew already. That is the attitude of a user.

I don’t need anything from him—

*he needs everything I carry*.

Dishonour:

• shuts down the supernatural

• kills the miraculous

• makes a believer spiritually untraceable

• closes doors that prayer cannot reopen

God forbid.

*POINT 6 — HONOUR OPENS THE REALM WHERE MIRACLES COME WITHOUT CALCULATION*

There is a realm I taught you:

• where you possess what you never saved up for

• where you receive what you never planned

• where blessings do not match your bank account

My daughter who received a car stepped into this realm.

During prayer,

I called her name,

I asked her to turn, I entered into the creative dimension of the prophetic, saw a car, spoke it— I emphatically said I want to break poverty from you.

*and honour positioned her*.

She honoured God.

She honoured grace.

And grace honoured her.

Honour is prophetic currency.

Honour unlocks miracles that accountants cannot explain.

Honour is the gate to realms where effort is not enough.

*To deepen this revelation, scripture makes it clearer:*

1. 1 Samuel 2:30 (KJV)

“… *for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed*.”

This means:

• Honour attracts honour

• Dishonour reduces a man

• Honour determines divine response

2. Matthew 10:41 (KJV)

“ *He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward*…”

Whatever you dishonour, you cannot receive from.

 *I Declare Prophetically*:

• Every atmosphere of dishonour around your life is destroyed!

🔥 *CONCLUSION — THE FINAL CRY OF GOD.*

Let me speak to you from a practical place…There was a day my spiritual father called me unexpectedly and said, “Son, I need to see you.” I got to his house, and right there in his bedroom he told me about a troubling diagnosis. I didn’t wait to think twice — I prayed with him for almost two hours right there. Before, I left him, I transferred a significant amount into his account without being asked.

Later, I followed him to the mountain to stand in agreement with him. I cleared a whole day out of my tight schedule just to honour his grace. When he was instructed to be observed at a General Hospital in Ife, I dedicated my own car for his use, fueled it, and even paid the driver that will drive him to and fro with my car not once but always when he had to go.

That… is honour.

Not money.

Not show.

Not pressure. Understanding spiritual protocol.

On the other hand, I know a son who — immediately after God opened a door for him to travel abroad — severed connection from the ministry. Another one, the moment the prophecy of getting a job came to pass, disappeared so he wouldn’t pay tithe. And there are many more, I can’t mention for time. There are many who hang on a ministry only for what they will benefit. They have nothing to offer to move that ministry forward. No idea, no commitment, they are neither here nor there. They are the generation of those who forgets their father. It is truly strange and sometimes painful when a son or daughter you have nurtured for years, poured into, prayed for, stood in the gap for, and carried on your altar travels abroad, stays for years, and then returns to the country without any sincere or frantic effort to see that spiritual father.

Especially a father who has never burdened them, never demanded anything from them, yet continually offered covering, intercession, direction, and spiritual labour that money cannot buy.

The truth is this:

A genuine father may need nothing from you, but you need everything he carries—

his grace,

his prayers,

his prophetic alignment,

his spiritual covering,

his oil,

his blessing.

A father’s blessing cannot be downloaded online. It is not remote. It is not casual. It is not optional. It is a covenant posture of honour that preserves destinies, keeps journeys safe, and sustains rising stars.

Those who understand honour rise quickly.

Those who neglect honour pay for it in silence.

*Everyone chooses a path… and everyone receives a reward*.

My point is simple:

It is not about your pocket.

It is not about what you have or don’t have.

It is about understanding *the place of honour* — and the enormous spiritual benefits that follow those who practice it sincerely.

When Saul honoured Samuel with a simple question, “What shall we give the man of God?” (1 Samuel 9:7), that honour opened the door to his enthronement.

*Beloved, let me share something with you…*

One of my daughters abroad was to see me recently with her young daughter. Before the scheduled day, I had already prepared the cash gift I would give the child. Why? Because I am yet to see a man full of grace who is not a giver.

A man of grace dwells in honour, and honour always finds expression through giving.

This has been my journey for years.

I have *sown my car* before.

I have *sown my best clothes*.

I have *given out my computer UPS* etc.

As a student, when we were building our church, I carried a bucket filled with sand on my head—gladly, joyfully, without complaints—because honour was in my spirit.

In school, I would sit down, draft a sermon, take my personal money, and print it as tracts just to share the gospel with fellow students. It wasn’t convenience… it was covenant. It was honour.

Today, I notice that wherever I go, honour shows up for me naturally. Not by struggle… by covenant.

Let me remind you of something that happened years ago during our program in Opebi.

A man of God walked into the eatery where we were having the prophetic program. Immediately, without hesitation, I instructed that *everything we had received as offering that day should be given to him*.

He collected it.

He blessed me.

He blessed everyone with me.

And as always, honour followed.

I say this to teach you:

Grace does not rest on stingy shoulders.

Honour does not sit in tight-fisted hands.

And favour does not flow through closed channels.

If you see a man consistently honoured by God and by men, look closely—you will find sacrifice, honour, and a giving heart somewhere in his foundation.

There is absolutely nothing you give to God that He lacks. Whatever you release is never to meet His need—it is a covenant pathway for your lifting.

Look at Isaac and Esau.

Isaac said, “Go and prepare me a savoury meal, that my soul may bless you” (Genesis 27:4).

Was there no food in the house? Of course there was! The meal he eventually ate was even prepared from food already in the house by Rebekah. Yet Isaac still requested a meal—not because he lacked food, but because honour unlocks inheritance.

It is the same mystery I saw when my Dad passed. I discovered that many of the things I bought for him—clothes, shoes, phones—were unworn and unused, still neatly arranged in his wardrobe. Yet he was always proud to say, “My son bought this for me.”

He didn’t need them.

He had more than enough.

But everything I gave him was simply a seed *that provoked a father’s blessing*.

Beloved, when you give to God—your time, your resources, your tithes, your seeds, your honour—you are not meeting His need.

You are activating your destiny.

You are positioning yourself for the blessing that *only a Father can release*.

May God give you understanding.

May He surround your life with the fragrance of honour.

And may honour usher you into realms your effort could never reach.

God is still asking you:

“ *If I am your Father… where is My honour?* ”
