I was involved in signing change of signatory for all our accounts in my place of work.
My boss asked me if I have anything to sign with the new signatory and I pulled out some out of numerous bank mandate form that I wanted the new signature to appear on, from a ‘file’ and ran as fast as I could to meet up with my boss.
After a while when I was going home, I discovered that the file where the remaining mandates were, were nowhere to be found.
The next day, I checked at the office and it became clear that the file was missing!
Without the signatory change, no cheque could be raised, transfers could not be made and salaries cannot be paid. It means I will be holding thousands of people to ransom.
On notifying my Boss, he issued a decree that I must complete all the signing for the change of signatory that day.
Included also in the missing file was the letters of introduction to all our banks, introducing the new signatory, and signed by the old signatory who has left for a far station to resume new office.
There is no way to conclude change of signatory without this letter first getting to the banks.
I first retraced all my steps the previous day to see if peradventure, I had left it in one of the offices I visited after I gave part of the signature cards to my boss. All to no avail. My Boss insisted I must produce d documents and even blamed me for things I wasn’t a party to.
In this critical situation i sent a text message to Governor, d man of God and during a call from Governor, I narrated all that has happened to him and he said;
-The weekend will not go before I find the document.
-I will not loose my Job.
-The favour of God will locate me.
-The person holding the document will release it and finally,
-The document cannot be missing
I was relieved. Barely 2 hours after the decree from Governor, the Man of God, my boss called me and asked if I had found d missing file. I told him no. Then he asked me to meet him in his office to discuss the issue of missing documents.
Then I related this to Governor again before going to see my Boss and he said ‘God will favour me’ and that ‘It is no issue!
I got to my Boss office at the time he fixed and behold he delivered the missing documents into my hands and said that he found the documents in his boss office.
The only thing discussed was ‘Is this the document you are looking for? Go and do your work’
That was how I escaped without query, warning or suspension. Praise God!
